The first step is choosing the correct size and number of fenders for your boat. As a general rule, larger boats require larger fenders, and you should always use enough to protect the areas most likely to come into contact with a pontoon, quay or another vessel.
Next, position your fenders at the correct height. The centre of the fender should sit level with the point of impact, usually the edge of the pontoon or dock.
